The epic HBO fantasy series has now been interpreted into a shoe collection through a collaboration by Helmut Lang & LD Tuttle. Capturing the essence of the rangers of the Nights Watch; the collection is dominated by black and contains sturdy looking knee high and ankle boot styles.
As adoring fans of the show here at 8 mag - we cannot wait to get a hold of the blood splattered ankle boots so that we can run from the White Walkers in style!
The collection will be available on August 2nd at helmutlang.com and in stores.

'And She's Not Even Pretty' : Courtney Love enters into the art world.
This week NYC saw the opening of Courtney Love’s art show ‘And She’s Not Even Pretty’ which will be on exhibit at Fred Torres Collaborations until June 15th.
The show consisted of what seemed entirely of self-portraits scribbled in a mixture of coloured pencils, water colours, ink and pastels. Each piece demonstrated underlying themes of pain, sex, violence, drugs and celebrities, with handwritten messages sprawled messily on every piece. Alongside the pictures on show, at the back of the gallery was a lace John Galliano wedding dress hanging from the wall, in which the words, ‘NOT MY CUNT ON MY DIME MISTER’ were emblazoned across it. It was mentioned that the dress was meant for the wedding between Love and Edward Norton, who it has been argued was one of her greatest loves.
The artwork offered the greatest insight into the mind of this tortured creative mind since ‘Dirty Blonde: The Diaries of Courtney Love’ was released in 2006 and it seems that Love leaks a part of her soul into each piece. However, whilst the vulgar language and offensive themes may not be to everyones taste, we adore these incredible pieces here at 8 Magazine! Love is a true music and style icon and we cannot help but fall in love with each crazy beautiful piece.
Lethal Weapon: The Christian Louboutin Artemis Studded Shoulder Bag
Christian Louboutin certainly knows how to bring the risk factor to the fashion world with the new crystal studded python ‘Artemis’ shoulder bag featuring spikes that will “seriously toughen up your accessories collection,” according to e-tailer net-a-porter.com.
Named after the Greek goddess of wilderness, the hunt and wild animals and fertility; this bag truly captures the beauty of Artemis with its body and skin, whilst the spiked studs symbolise the huntress factor.
Although this masterpiece must be worn with caution - we think it is definitely worth the risk!

Is this not just the most beautiful thing you have ever seen? Well….in terms of jewelry that is. This incredible masterpiece is the sterling silver bat skeleton necklace from the Miyu Decay silver line and is absolutely breath taking.
The fruit bat skeleton was created to replicate the actual size of the creature using a combination of casting and hand, cold forging silver wire and each tiny little bone filed, hammered and soldered. Thus, leaving this tiny frame incredibly precious and delicate.
Whilst bats are associated with darkness and seen as demonic creatures, the designer really captures a delicate vulnerability of this creature in it’s pose upon the wearer…and this piece is truly something to cherish and admire.
When thinking of powerful statement jewelry, it’s hard not to acknowledge the mark that Pamela Love has left upon the fashion world in the past few years. Inspired by nature and science, as well as astronomy, astrology, religion, magic and folk jewelry; each collection has left us enamoured at the alternative and quirky twist she puts on each piece. We love the romantically dark air that echoes from her collections, which feature chunky spikes, skulls, hearts and other extravagant designs created by experimenting with unique and exotic materials.

Feeling the winter blues? Then check out these super cute bunny sunglasses from the latest Karen Walker collection and imagine some sunshine. Unless of course…you’re in LA…where the weekend forecast looks to be around 80 degrees.
Black lipstick is a key item in make-up bags for those who rock the traditional gothic style. However, if you’re not into the full on Manson image, yet still appreciate the sexy, edgy look that black lipstick resonates…there are ways you can incorporate it to your girly style without going too drastic.
Make sure that the rest of your make-up is very basic i.e. don’t go overboard on the eyeliner and eyeshadow.
When applying the lipstick, ensure that you paint your lips equally. Using a brush is a good idea as it keeps you from overdoing the look. It also allows for a smoother application and gives you the ability to blend it more easily into your natural lip colour and lip line.
Do not use any blush as this can result in you looking like a clown.
Try to keep your hair loose, as if it is scraped back you could look too drastic.
Ensure that your skin is clean and if not make sure to use a good foundation.
Finally…get a good brand of lipstick! Some black lipsticks tend to run - so be sure to test it out first!
With yet another road trip on the horizon — the Strength in Numbers tour with Hit the Lights, Moths to Flame and Sparks the Resure — D.R.U.G.S. have partnered with Noisecreep to bring you the exclusive premiere of ‘Scream If You’re Crazy,’ a new track from the white hot band.
D.R.U.G.S. vocalist Craig Owens gave Noisecreep some background on the new track:
"This is a song that was originally written about some personal issues I was going through last summer while on tour with D.R.U.G.S. It can be self-interpreted, as most lyrics should be, but ultimately is about the moments in our lives where you feel like both nothing and everything matters at the same time. Losing someone, you included. Ultimately it points out the direction D.R.U.G.S. is taking musically. The reason we decided to release this track on its own, early, is because of the upcoming first D.R.U.G.S. headlining run which goes from Jan. 19 – Feb. 25. I hope you all listen to it, on a real level. I hope that it brings out some anger, some pain, and most importantly that you come join us and your peers in screaming along to get all of that out when we come through your city soon."
Zoe Kravitz is the offspring of rock legend Lenny Kravitz and quirky actress Lisa Bonet and it therefore comes as no surprise that this young beauty has an edgy personal style…
The unique and inspired style and beauty of Zoe Kravitz has not gone unnoticed and she has caused quite a stir in the fashion world. Kravitz was quickly cast at the face of Vera Wangs ‘Princess’ fragrance in 2009 and is best friends with another designer Wang, Alexander. She is regularly spotted with Alexander Wang and is seen front row at his shows, as well as appearing in his ad campagains and being seen wearing his latest collections.
Whilst this love child is often papped in high end designs by the likes of Chanel, Balmain and Zac Posen when she appears at events - it seems that she is most comfortable in a much more affordable style which can be found at quirky markets and little vintage shops. Her signature looks include flannel tops, trilby hats, band tees, round framed glasses, tonnes of vintage jewelry, short skirts and stompy boots - giving her the right combination of sexy and cute.

This year is all about embracing shocking bright hair colours with pinks, blues and oranges. Replacing the more subtle pastel pinks and lilacs and dip-dye hair styles of 2011 - these daring supercharged colours are bringing back a true rebellious punk attitude in the most beautiful way.
The crazy, colourful shades have been sported over the years on the likes of Gwen Stefani and Kelly Osbourne and are now resurfacing with the likes of model Charlotte Free seen showing off her bright pink locks in Vogue UK. Alongside this, the look has been displayed on the Spring runways for Narciso Rodgriguez and Thakoon.
However, if you’re not feeling brace enough to embrace this look fully, there is now a solution to create this full on colour without the commitment. This is all thanks to harstylist Kevin Murphy. Murphy has introduced ‘Colour.Bug’ which is a powder pigment that can be used for just one night.
This is a look that will definitely let you stand out alongside looking ever so fashionable! So why not be bold in 2012 and give this quirky hair style a go?!
"Spring 2012 White Label is a reflection of the girl’s childhood fantasies, a grown up fairy tale decked with pastels, sparkles, mini dresses and 80’s nostalgia. My little pony, Care Bears and Rainbow Bright are brought to life in this collection with pastel hair, dreamy knits, creamy lace, fringe and dungarees."
Spring 2012 will see the launch of the highly anticipated White Label Collection by Wildfox. This collection fits in perfectly with the pastel colours that featured on the runways for S/S 2012 runways during Fashion Week and offers that beautiful dreamy California look that we so love from the brand.
Whilst Wildfox Couture began as simply producing girly vintage style tees, the brand has progressed over the years with leggings, skirts and dresses and this collection really marks the extent to which the girls have advanced with their clothing. The White Label collection includes knitted jumpers, pastel crop tops, printed crosses, fringe and plenty of ponies. Not to mention the fact that the girls teamed up with shoe designer Jeffrey Campbell for the coinciding shoe collection, which includes a beautiful pair of ballet shoe flatforms!
If you werent in love with the brand already and love a bit of whimsical vintage style - then be sure to check out the brand.
